problem when trying to install DCon... - Desert-Conflict.org

ok.. I've got a problem when trying to install DCon, whenever I try to install it, the installer shows up in my taskbar, for only a second, and then it dissapears, anybody know why it's doing this? and here are my system specs.... I've also tried running it in compatibility mode with Windows XP sp2.... so, I'm not sure what's going on

try installing as the admin with vista.. right click on the exe and install as admin

now I'm getting an error when starting DCon

I get this error

"mods/bf2/shaders/staticmesh.fx not found!!! _DO_ check your working directory, _AND_ sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP. (really!)"

is it because I don't have the v1.50 patch installed, or what?

If you are installing DCONX 0.24b, you will need BF2 1.5.

I also got the staticmesh.fx error when using the shortcut. If I remember correctly, starting the mod from within BF2 caused no issues for me.

alrighty, lol, I've got it working... but one last question, is there a way to play DCon in windowed mode?

sorry for all of these questions, lol... I just prefer to play in windowed mode

because I'm cool like that.. lmao

Right click your shortcut, select 'properties', select 'shortcut'. The 'target' line should contain this:

If not, add/change as necessary.
